LCS Customs Station Khunwa came into existence vide Notification No.67/1972
dated 20.05.1972 of Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue,
New Delhi as a Unit under C(P) C Barhni. Prior to Khunwa it was stationed at
Shohratgarh. LCS Khunwa became an independent unit w.e.f. 23.01.2003.
Khunwa is connected with Taulihawa, the Headquarter of District Kapilvastu of
Nepal by road and situated about 12 Km away. The adjacent Nepal’s Customs
office is Bhansar, Suthauli located in Village maryadpur (Nepal) approximately
02 Km from LCS Khunwa. Khunwa is about 09 Km away from Shohratgarh, the
Tehsil Headquarters and Railway Station is about 32 Km away from Distt. Hdqrs.
Siddharthnagar. The office of LCS Khunwa is in a Govt. owned building covering
area of 119 Sq m out of which 527 Sq m is for the office purpose. this LCS is
Electronic Data Interface (EDI) enabled from 10.07.2024 to facilitate Customs
clearances.
